We were in "take over" mode. We played and played, club after club. We owned orange county. We wrote songs.. tough songs. NO songs about love, or being love sick... it was our mission. "We're on a mission from coast to coast saving the cities we need the most, it's up to the bomb who's lives are lost, spare and not want or it's holycaust - straigh to you american bomb".... that was the American Bomb 7". That  song, that single represented this incarnation of the band.  It was tough and militant.  We recruited Goat man (lead guitar), and Ricky johnson (bass) and we formed the unit. This single, was financed by Drac from Vinyl Solution and Mike Lohrman from Underdog records. The label was VD - Vinyl Dog. We recorded it at Dr. Dream studios in Orange and was recorded by Ace - now from Manic Hispanic...

Punk Rock production, pink vinyl, the first 200 came with a poster!!! A signed poster. Duane had a friend named Cary Corr, this guy was a genius, his work speaks for itself... just WATCH the video. The American Bomb video. HEAR the lyrics just after the solo... remember, we were happening during grunge and the city we selected for the bomb to destroy was Seattle.  It was as if the bomb had a mind of it's own, and it knew that seattle was next. The cover has a "death cloud" from the Magazine Second Hand Daylight album, blowing up Seattle. Note the Space Needle, a Seattle landmark under the cloud... destroyed. "Look to the map get outa the fog, I can't understand you brother, only know your views are wrong, your flowers and your hippy songs... we're on a mission from coast to coast saving the cities we need the most, up to the bomb who's lives are lost spare and not want or it's holycaust.." No regard for the life of the Lumberjack with a guitar... we saw no style, no substance in their music or their look. Look at Seattle now... great punk scene.

That Cadillac in the video was a 1975 fleetwood. It hauled an orange amp in the trunk, drums in the back seat, a marshall head and guitars... that was our transport vehicle.

We wrote that song laying on the dirty carpet at shackster... the flea problem had not fully gone away from before Kevin's death in the next room. His ghost haunted that room, turning lights on and off... Duane set his bed on fire in that room. It was time to bounce back and we were doing it... all over Orange county, Los Angeles and San Diego. Next up, Northern California.

L to R - Art, Duane, Steve, Goat and... who was on bass on this show in the parking lot of the Electric Chair in Huntington Beach... don't remember. We went through several bass players.

We had a demo, recorded on a 4 track that only had 3 tracks working, we had hits!! We had recorded live at 2 gigs at the Spirit club in San Diego...We had recording date set to record live on the stage at the Belly Up tavern in Solana Beach. We had potential... all the pieces were in place for success. The rumours of the drugs, the rumours of the band splitting... all this while we were working at a tattoo shop in Newport beach - an hour away. Devon was gonna leave. Kevin and us decided that we were gonna bring a new bassist into the mix. We had one in mind. Guess who?

We were tattooing in Newport beach.. and who did we see on the way to the store for drinks? Duane Peters.. we had met several times before.. first time in 82 at a contest in Dallas.. he cut our hair in a hotel room... this was every "punk" skater's dream... We'll let Duane take over from here.

"I Climbed out of A Ditch in 1990 and got into a Halfway house in Newport Beach ca, The Twins worked at Newport Tattoo and I went down There everyday and Hung out with them,I had Like five Really Bad tattoos and They would work on me for Free, I knew them from Skateboard world and Had been on the Road at A couple contest’s in Late 80′s with em,So Here I Was again in their Lives and The Good Thing about the Twins was they were Cool as Hell and Neither Have or Had ever done drugs or Drank in their Lives and I really Needed to Be around that sort of Environment,I owned one Pair of Pajamas and a Pair of Converse shoes and They hit me up one Day if I wanted to go check out their Band ?  -  DUANE PETERS
Looking down on the funeral for Kevin Edman. He was 21 years old.

Kevin's Hollywood glam fans showed up to pay their disrespects. Us and Duane were so militant. The anti drug attitude between all of us was on high. We couldn't stand the fact that some of these guests showed up on heroin. The sheer disrespect to show up under the influence of the same drug that killed their "friend"... he was OUR friend, he was in OUR army now, not theirs. One look from one of them and they're gonna get their faces broken... one looked and immediately, just like an angry rabid dog, Duane yelled "what the fuck are you looking at!! Rat man!!!"  the junkie turned away. The disgust, the sadness ... the end of a short era of genius, creativity and a bright future, all taken away by a bad decision. We went back to "Shackster" (that's what Duane named our house). We had no choice but to re form... re structure and continue the mission.

EXPLODING F*CK DOLLS - 1991

1991 - The Exploding F*ck Dolls... not many know the back ground of this band. Most people have no idea about the early beginnings of it. The band's roots are deep, deeper than what anyone knows. Above is a picture of Kevin Edman. HE was the one who named the band, he was the front man and co-founder along with us, the Godoys.

Steve and I are not normally make up wearers, kevin suggested that we'd look great in photos this way...

Kevin had left the Stars from Mars, a Hollywood glam band, to move to North San Diego to escape a certain lifestyle... where he met Steve first and then me. We had discussed forming a band, we had discussed everything from the look, to the sound. He had a real style, glam yet punk. He had a better walk then most women when he wore heels or platforms!!! He was a fighter, didn't take any shit. Above all, he was a genius song writer. The first song the band wrote was called "Little Girls", the second was called "It'll be Alright"...  we had 2 hits before we recruited our bass player from a nearby punk clothing store. His name was Devin... man could he play the bass. Real smooth, real solid. Putting a set together was easy, we brought in "City Action" and "Vacation" from our old band Kuncklesamwich, and Undertones song called "Get Over You"... the Professionals song "1, 2, 3" wrote and soon we were in business.

Writing songs was easy... we wrote great songs. We had a set of 10 songs and were ready to play. To test the waters, managed to set up 2 great gigs in nearby Carlsbad at Ralph and Eddies... we managed to get banned by the mayor of the city - the name was "too offensive"so we were black listed by any clubs!  The name was perfect.... more later.
